Fabric

This is the perfect way to add a little color to an otherwise boring tablecloth or curtain. Hint - cotton, silk and linen accept paint better than other fabrics. Collect your supplies at the local hobby store. You’ll need stencil adhesive, maroon and gray fabric or acrylic paint, a dense foam roller and a large flat surface to work on.

Iron your fabric to keep it flat for stenciling. Plan your design and layout on the flat piece of fabric. Once you know where you’d like the pattern to start, we recommend starting in an upper corner. Now it’s time to adhere the stencil(s) to your fabric. Following the manufacturer’s instructions, carefully spray the back of your stencil with adhesive. Gentle place the stencil on the fabric. Pour your stencil paint into a paint pan or tray and evenly cover your foam roller being careful not to overload so not to create dripping. The roller should look somewhat dry. Apply the stencil paint with light to medium pressure, rolling just enough to completely cover the cut-out area evenly, but not so much to create bleeding under the stencil. Carefully lift the stencil to see your handwork. Repeat as necessary.
